Lesson plans for emotion regulation following a critical incident
Following a very difficult event, children and young people can have thoughts and feelings that are hard to cope with. The following lesson plans will support them to understand these emotions and find ways of helping themselves and others.
There are separate versions of the resources for different educational phases; 3-6 years, 7-11 years and 12+ years. We recommend that staff in specialist SEND settings draw activities from any plan that most relates to the cognitive and emotional developmental stages of their children and young people.
