The Childhood Trauma and the Brain animation offers a general introduction to what happens in the brain after children face traumatic experiences in childhood, like abuse and neglect. Dig deeper into the science introduced in the animation with explainer videos and short articles summarising the research. Discover how to apply the science to practice in short videos and articles featuring leading clinicians, social workers, and teachers.
The UK Trauma Council created the following resources to support individuals and organisations working to nurture and protect children and young people following trauma. You will find articles, animations, videos, guidance, handouts, presentations and more all created by the UK’s leading childhood trauma experts. One new resource will be produced each year. The resource topics will aim to address national gaps identified by the Council and will be created through a process of consultation.
